  • Glazed Carrots Asian Style

    Ingredients

    • 6 lrg carrots peeled, and sliced in half lengthwise
    • 3 Tbsp. lite soy sauce
    • 3 Tbsp. rice vinegar
    • 2 x garlic cloves chopped
    • 2 tsp sesame oil
    • 2 tsp chopped ginger
    • 1/4 tsp Chinese five-spice pwdr

    Directions

    1. In a large pot of boiling water, add in the carrots and parboil for 5 min. Drain and rinse with cool water.
    2. In a large glass dish, combine the remaining ingredients. Add in the carrots and marinate for 30 min.
    3. Prepare an outdoor grill with an oiled rack set 4 inches from the heat source. Using a oiled wire hinged vegetable basket (or possibly just directly on the rack whichever you find easier), grill the carrots, turning constantly for a total of 10 min, till slightly charred.
    4. This recipe yields 6 servings.
    5. Serving size: 1 large carrot.
    6. Comments: This method of preparing carrots will have us all eating like Bugs Bunny!
