This is typically served during snack time. Ginataan means cooked in coconut milk. Coconut is grated and then the grains are formed in lumps by hand and then squeezed or pressed to get the juices from them. This dish is almost like the ginataan halo-halo but this one has fruit cocktain, and also tastes good.

    Ingredients

    • 1/4 cup sugar
    • 1 cup thick coconut milk
    • 1-3/4 cups thin coconut milk
    • 1 can of Fruit Cocktail, drained (Del Monte preferrably)
    • 2 medium lacatan bananas, sliced (ripe plantain or saba will also be great)
    • 1/2 cup cooked big white sago (tapioca) or sago pearls
    • can also add sweet potato (camote) and ripe jackfruit (langka)

    Directions

    1. Put the thin coconut milk in a casserole, then add sugar.
    2. Bring to a boil and simmer for 5 minutes.
    3. Add sago, thick coconut milk and a can of Fruit Cocktail (del monte).
    4. Cook for another 3-5 minutes, then add bananas.
