These irresistible and simple Garlic Butter Breadsticks are so light, airy, and crispy, you’ll make them over and over again!

    Ingredients

    • For the dough:
    • 1 cup + 2 Tablespoons warm water
    • 1½ teaspoons instant yeast
    • 2 Tablespoons granulated sugar
    • 3 Tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
    • 1¾ teaspoons kosher salt
    • 3 cups bread flour, plus extra for dusting
    • For brushing:
    • 3 Tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
    • ½ teaspoon kosher salt
    • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
    • ¼ teaspoon onion powder
    • ½ teaspoon Italian seasoning

    Directions

    1. Place all ingredients except the bread flour into the bowl of an electric stand mixer fitted with a dough hook. Combine on the lowest speed.
    2. Gradually add in the bread flour. Increase the speed to medium and let the dough knead for 7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
    3. Remove the dough to a lightly oiled bowl and cover with plastic wrap. Let it rise in a warm place until doubled in size, around 1½ hours. I place mine in the oven with the light on.
    4. Lightly flour a working surface and divide the dough into 12 equal portions. Then roll each piece of dough into a 7 inch breadstick log. Place them on a baking sheet lined with a nonstick baking mat or parchment paper. Cover with plastic wrap and let rise until doubled in size again, about 1 hour.
    5. Preheat oven to 400°F. Bake about 12 minutes or until they’re golden brown on top.
    6. While breadsticks are baking, combine all the brushing ingredients in a small bowl. Remove the breadsticks from the oven and immediately brush with the butter mixture. Serve them while warm.
