Ingredients

  • Carrot- 1 kg
  • Milk- 1 and a half Litres
  • Green cardamoms - 8
  • Ghee- 5 to 7 tbsp
  • Sugar- 5 to 7 tbsp
  • Raisins-2 tbsp
  • Shredded almonds-1 tbsp
  • Chopped dates-2 tbsp

Directions

  1. Do peeling and grating of carrots
  2. Simmer grated carrots in milk along with cardamom, waiting till the milk evaporates
  3. In a heavy pan, heat Ghee and add carrot mix
  4. For 10 to 15 minutes, cook this mix over a gentle flame
  5. Stir in sugar and resume cooking till Halwa assumes a deep red hue
  6. Add dry fruits and serve warm.
