Fried Onion Rings
Ingredients
- 3/4 c. All purpose flour
- 1/2 c. Water
- 1/2 c. Lowfat milk
- 6 Tbsp. White cornmeal
- 1 Tbsp. Vegetable oil
- 3/4 tsp Seasoned salt
- 1/2 tsp Sugar
- 5 dsh Warm red pepper sauce Oil for frying
- 1 lrg Onion, sliced 1/2 inch rings
Directions
- Combine all batter ingredients in small mixing bowl. Stir till smooth.
- Heat 3 inches of oil in deep fryer or possibly large saucepan to 375 degrees. Dip a few onion rings in the batter let excess batter drip back into bowl.
- Fry a few at a time for two to three min Or possibly till golden. Drain on paper towels.
- Repeat with remaining onion rings.
- Serve immediately Or possibly keep hot in 175 degree preheated oven.
