  • Fresh Pasta With Cheese And Parma Ham

    Ingredients

    • 25 gm Butter, (1oz)
    • 25 gm Plain flour, (1oz)
    • 450 ml Lowfat milk, ( 3/4 pint)
    • 50 gm Parmesan cheese, grated (2oz) Salt and freshly grnd black pepper
    • 1 x 70 grams pac Parma ham, sliced (3oz)
    • 1 x 500 gram bag tagliatelle verdi, (1lb)
    • 25 gm Pine nut kernels, toasted (1oz)

    Directions

    1. Heat the butter in a saucepan, add in the flour and cook for 1 minute, stirring occasionally. Remove from the heat and gradually stir in the lowfat milk.
    2. Return to the heat and bring to the boil, stirring continously. Remove from the heat, add in 25g (1oz) of the cheese and season to taste.
    3. Gently stir in the Parma ham.
    4. Meanwhile cook the pasta following instructions on the pack, drain quickly.
    5. Mix well with the cheese sauce.
    6. Transfer to a warmed serving dish, sprinkle over the pine nuts and remaining parmesan cheese.
