French Toast With Cinnamon Maple Syrup

Ingredients

  • 1 c. pure maple syrup
  • 1 Tbsp. butter
  • 2 tsp grnd cinnamon
  • 3 lrg Large eggs
  • 1 c. whipping cream or possibly half-and-half
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 4 slc egg bread, 3/4" to 1" thick Additional butter for cooking

Directions

  1. Bring syrup, 1 Tbsp. butter and 1 tsp. cinnamon to boil in medium saucepan. Boil for 2 min. Cold.
  2. Whisk Large eggs, cream, vanilla, 3 Tbsp. maple syrup mix and remaining 1 tsp. cinnamon in bowl.
  3. Place bread slices in large baking dish. Pour egg mix over; turn to coat. Pierce bread in several places with fork. Let stand 5 min.
  4. Heat 1 Tbsp. butter in large skillet over medium heat. Add in bread and cook till brown, about 3 min. If needed, add in more butter to skillet; turn over bread and cook till brown, about 3 min. Transfer to plates.
  5. Serve with remaining syrup.
  6. This recipe yields 2 servings.
