  • French Caramel Pecan Bars (Bake Off)

    Ingredients

    • 3/4 c. butter or possibly margarine melted
    • 1 pkt French Vanilla Cake Mix
    • 1 x egg
    • 2 1/2 c. quick-cooking oats
    • 1 can Caramel Pecan or possibly Coconut Pecan Frosting
    • 12 ounce semisweet chocolate chips
    • 1/2 c. minced pecans

    Directions

    1. Heat oven to 350 degrees.
    2. Spray a 15x10x1" baking pan with nonstick cooking spray. Place melted butter in large bowl. reserve 3 Tablespoons of the cake mix; set aside. Add in remaining cake mix to butter; blend well. Add in egg; mix well. Stir in oats. Press 2/3 of cake mix mix (about 2 1/2 c.) in bottom of prepared pan.
    3. Place frosting in med. microwavable bowl; microwave on HIGH for 1 minutes. Add in reserved 3 Tablespoons cake mix; stir till large lumps disappear. Drizzle half of frosting mix over cake mix mix in pan; spread proportionately. Sprinkle with chocolate chips and pecans. Drizzle remaining frosting mix on top. Crumble remaining cake mix mix over frosting mix.
    4. Bake for 25-30 minutes. or possibly till top is golden and edges are bubbly. Cold 1 1/2 hrs or possibly till completely cooled. Cut into bars.
