- Muffins:
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/3 cup melted butter
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1-2/3 cups all-purpose flour
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 1-1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp nutmeg
- 1/2 tsp salt
- Topping:
- 1/3 cup melted butter
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- Spread
- Butter
Directions
- Preheat oven to 375° F.
- Grease a 12 cup muffin pan; set aside.
- Combine milk, 1/3 cup melted butter and egg in a bowl. Set aside.
- In another bowl, combine flour, 3/4 cup sugar, baking powder, salt and nutmeg. Add in the egg mixture; stir just until combined.
- Spoon batter into prepared pan. Bake 15-20 minutes or until toothpick inserted comes out clean.
- Place the 1/3 cup melted butter in a bowl. Combine 1/2 cup sugar and cinnamon in another bowl. Remove muffins from pan; let stand 2 minutes to 5 minutes on cooling rack.
- Serve warm with butter.
