I HAVEN'T MADE THIS IN SEVERAL YEARS, SO I'M DUSTING IT OFF AND ADDING IT TO MY COLLECTION, IT WAS A HIT I USUALLY MAKE THIS IN THE FALL Ingredients
- 2 CUPS ALL PURPOSE FLOUR,2/3 CUPS WHITE SUGAR, 2TBSP
- BAKING POWDER, 2TSP CINNAMON, 1/2 TSP NUTMEG, 1/2 TSP
- GROUND CLOVES 1/2 TSP SALT, 1/2 TSP BAKING SODA, 2TBSP BUTTER OR MARGARINE, I CAN 16 OZ PEACHES,IN
- HEAVY SYRUP( DRAIN AND RESERVE THE SYRUP) 1/2 CUP RESERVED PEACH SYRUP 2 EGGS BEATEN, 1 TSP VANILLA EXTRACT 1/2 TSP PEACH FLAVORING( MINE I GOT FROM WATKINS DEALER AWHILE AGO)
Directions
- PLACE ALL INGREDIENTS IN A LARGE MIXING BOWL AND BEAT FOR 2 MINUTES, POUR INTO A GREASED 9X5- INCH LOAF PAN AND BAKE AT 350* FOR 55 TO 65 MINUTES OR UNTIL BREAD TESTS DONE, REMOVE FROM PAN IMMEDIATELY AND COOL COMPLETELY ON A WIRE RACK WHEN COOL DRIZZLE WITH GLAZE . STORE TIGHTLY WRAPPED IN THE REFRIGERATOR. MAKES I LOAF, SERVES 16 PEOPLE
- GLAZE---
- 1/2 CUP POWDERED SUGAR, 1/4 TSP WHITE VANILLA FLAVORING, 1TO 2 TSP HOT MILK
- COMBINE POWDERED SUGAR, WHITE VANILLA FLAVORING, ENOUGH OF THE MILK TO GET A SMOOTH GLAZE
