FLORA'S CRAB BRUNCH CASSEROLE
crab brunch casserole is a delicious meal entree in one that simplifies, serving a midday brunch or patio supper and requires no last minute preparation, the dish is easily assembled by layering toasted bread cubes, crabs,and grated cheddar cheese in a casserole dish, over the top is poured a rich egg and milk mixture seasoned with prepared mustard and onion salt. Ingredients
- 6 to 8 oz crab meat canned or frozen
- 3 cups toasted bread cubes
- 1 1/2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
- 6 eggs
- 3 cups milk
- 1tsp prepared mustard
- 1/4 tsp onion salt
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/8 tsp pepper
- 5 slices cooked bacon crumbled
Directions
- drain crabs, and slice it in to pieces
- spread bread cubes in bottom of buttered 9" square or round casserole dish
- sprinkle crab and cheese over bread.
- beat eggs
- add milk and seasoning and pour over crab
- bake in a 325* oven over 45 minutes to 1 hour or until set
- sprinkle with crumbled bacon last 10 minutes of baking
