Ingredients

  • 1 x -(up to)
  • 1 1/2 lb Fresh fish filet (perch or possibly catfish nuggets)
  • 3 x -(up to)
  • 4 Tbsp. Veg. oil
  • 2 x -(up to)
  • 3 slc (1/4-inch) fresh ginger
  • 3 Tbsp. Soy sauce
  • 4 stalk green onion cut into 1" pcs (throw away white portion)
  • 1 Tbsp. Granulated sugar

Directions

  1. Heat the veg. oil over medium heat in a non-stick frying pan.
  2. Fry the ginger and green onion till the green onions start to brown.
  3. Add in the fish and pan fry till the fish is cooked. Cooking time will depend on thickness of fish filets. Turn filets once during cooking.
  4. Add in the soy sauce and sugar to pan and cook till the sauce bubbles.
  5. Filets should be coated with sauce and sauce should start to create a
  6. "crunchy" coating from carmelizing sugar.
  7. Remove from heat and serve immediately.
