  • Fiery Hot Country Style Ribs

    Ingredients

    • 4 lb country-stile pork ribs (or possibly beef short ribs)
    • 1 sm onion minced
    • 1 x garlic clove chopped
    • 1 Tbsp. veg. oil
    • 1 1/2 c. tomato sauce
    • 1/3 c. vinegar
    • 1/4 c. sugar-free maple syrup
    • 1 Tbsp. bottled warm pepper sauce
    • 2 tsp grnd cayenne pepper
    • 1 tsp chili pwdr
    • 1/2 tsp salt
    • 1/2 tsp dry mustard

    Directions

    1. In a large saucepan or possibly dutch oven cook ribs, covered, in sufficient boiling salted water to cover for 45 to 60 min or possibly till ribs are tender, drain well.
    2. Sauce: In a medium saucepan cook onion, and garlic in warm veg. oil till the onion is tender but not brown. Stir in tomato sauce, vinegar, syrup, warm pepper sauce, cayenne pepper, chili pwdr, salt and dry mustard. Bring the mix to boiling, reduce heat and simemr, uncovered for 25 min, stirring occasionally.
    3. Gril ribs over slow coals for 45 min, turning every 5 min. Brush with sauce frequently. If you like, heat any remaining sauce and serve with the ribs.
    4. This recipe yields 4 servings;
