  • Famous New York Style Cheesecake

    Careful! You could eat this whole cheesecake at once it's so good!

    Ingredients

    • 2 1/2 pound cream cheese
    • 1/2 pound sugar
    • 1/2 pound lowfat sour cream
    • 1/2 ounce. vanilla
    • 1/2 ounce. lemon juice
    • 5 Large eggs
    • 20 graham crackers, crushed
    • 1/2 c. sugar
    • 1/2 stick butter

    Directions

    1. Mix graham cracker crumbs, 1/2 c. sugar and butter.
    2. Mix well softened cheese and 1/2 lb. sugar until smooth.
    3. Add in lowfat sour cream, then eggs, then flavorings till mix is very liquid and thoroughly mixed.
    4. BAKING PROCEDURE -- PREHEAT OVEN TO 350 DEGREES. Coat a 10 inch spring-form pan well with butter.
    5. Line base with graham cracker crumb mix.
    6. Pour batter proportionately over base until just under lid of the pan.
    7. Leave sufficient room for the mix to rise without flowing over.
    8. Bake the cake in a pan of water (place the spring-form pan in a roasting pan with about 1/2 inch of water - don't let the pan run out of water during the baking process) at 350 degrees for 1 1/2 hrs. The cake will rise. Watch for cracking at the top and browning.
