    English Bread Pudding (crockpot)

    Yummy crockpot dessert, I got from Crockpot Cookbook comfort food.


    • 16 slices day old firm textured white bread (small loaf)
    • 1 3/4 cup nonfat milk
    • 1 8oz package mixed dried fruit, cut into small pieces
    • 1/4 cup chopped walnuts
    • 1 med apple, seeded and chopped
    • 1/3 cup brown sugar (or splenda brown sugar)
    • 2 tbsp butter, melted
    • 1 egg, lighty beaten
    • 1 tsp cinnamon or more to taste
    • 1/4 tsp nutmeg
    • 1/4 tsp ground clove (opt)


    1. Tear bread (with crusts), into 1-2 inch pieces, put in crockpot.
    2. Pour milk over bread, let soak 30mins.
    3. Meanwhile chop or cut dried fruits, nuts and apple.
    4. After 30 mins stir in fruits and nuts.
    5. Combine remaining ingredients in a small bowl and pour over bread mixture. Stir well till blended. Cover and cook on LOW 3 1/2 to 4 hrs, or until tooth pick inserted into center of pudding comes out clean.
