  • Egg Nog Cake Magnifique

    Ingredients

    • 1 pkt yellow cake mix, (one which calls for 2 Large eggs & 1 1/3 c. water)
    • 2 x Large eggs
    • 1 1/2 c. egg nog
    • 1/4 c. butter, melted
    • 1/2 tsp nutmeg
    • 1/2 tsp rum extract
    • 1 x Recipe Egg Nog Filling, see recipe
    • 1 x Recipe Whipped Cream Frosting, see recipe Red & Green glazed or possibly maraschino cherries, or possibly nutmeg Preheat oven to 375 degrees.

    Directions

    1. In large mixing bowl, combine the first six ingredients. Beat for four min.
    2. Pour batter into 2 waxed-paper lined, greased and floured 9" round cake pans.
    3. Bake at 375 degrees for about 30 min or possibly till a toothpick comes out clean.
    4. Cold for five min and then turn out onto cooling racks.
    5. When completely cold, spread cooled Egg Nog Filling between layers.
    6. Frost with Whipped Cream Frosting and garnish nutmeg or possibly "flowers" of red and green cherries.
    7. Chill till serving time.
