  • EASY IRON SKILLET APPLE COBBLE-UP

    This Iron Skillet Apple Cobble-Up Recipe is easy and makes a great dessert to serve with ice cream or whipped cream for family or guests.  You might also like our recipe for iron skillet banana blueberry cobbler. Apple cobble-up is delicious! 2 cups biscuit mix such as Bisquick 1 cup milk 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon 2 tablespoons butter, melted 3 to 4 cups peeled and chopped apples (I used red delicious apples) 1 cup apple juice Whisk together the biscuit mix, ground cinnamon and nutmeg. Add the milk and melted butter and stir together with a spoon. Spray a 10 inch iron skillet with cooking spray (could use just a regular 2 quart baking dish for this recipe). Spread the baking mix in the bottom of the skillet like in the photo below. Spread the chopped apples on top. Pour the apple juice over the top of the apples pressing the apples down so they will be in the juice. Bake in a preheated 400 degree oven for 45 minutes or until golden brown. Makes 6 to 8 servings.
