  • Easy Elephant Ears

    Was not feeling well when the fair came to town. I really needed and elephant ear. Yeasty and yummy..

    Ingredients

    • • 1/2 cup lukewarm water
    • • 1/2 cup lukewarm milk
    • • 2 pkg. instant dry yeast.
    • • 2 tbsp sugar
    • • 1/2 tsp salt
    • • 2 1/4 cups flour

    Directions

    1. • Mix the first 5 ingredient and then gradually add the flour. Dough will be slightly sticky. Knead on floured board for two minutes.
    2. • Roll into a ball and put into a well greased bowl cover with plastic wrap till dough doubles in size.
    3. • Divide dough into 2” balls.
    4. • Roll dough on lightly floured surface. The thinner the better. Aprox 6” circles.
    5. • Put some oil in a deep frying pan and get it good and hot.
    6. • Drop in flattened batter and fry.
    7. • Lightly butter the hot dough.
    8. • Sprinkle with cinnamon sugar.
