  • Easy Applesauce Spice Cake (Cp)

    Ingredients

    • 1 pkt spice cake mix (19 ounce)
    • 16 ounce applesauce
    • 2 x Large eggs Browned Butter Frosting
    • 1/3 c. butter
    • 3 c. powdered sugar
    • 1 1/2 tsp vanilla
    • 2 Tbsp. lowfat milk

    Directions

    1. In large mixing bowl, combine cake mix with applesauce and Large eggs. Blend for 1/2 a minute. Then beat 4 min on med speed of electric mixer. Pour into greased and floured 6 c. mold. Place on bottom of crock pot. Cover cake with 4 to 5 paper towels. Cover pot, leaving lid slightly ajar, and cook on high for 2 or possibly 3 hours. Let stand 5 min. Invert on cooling rack. Cold; cover with frosting.
    2. Frosting: Heat butter in saucepan over medium heat till a delicate light brown, being careful not to let it get deep brown. Remove from heat. Stir in sugar, vanilla and lowfat milk. Beat with a wooden spoon till smooth, adding a few drops of lowfat milk if mix is too thick. Spread over cooled cake.
