Dry Sweet Vermicelli ( Sevian Sanja )
Ingredients
- 4 Tbsp. ghee
- 4 Tbsp. raisins
- 4 Tbsp. flaked almonds
- 300 gm vermicelli broken into short lengths
- 60 gm caster sugar
- 1 tsp cardamom pwdr
Directions
- Heat the ghee in a pan and fry the raisins and the almonds till golden brown.
- Remove with a slotted spoon
- In the same ghee fry the vermicelli till golden brown without allowing it to brown.
- Add in the sugar and mix well.
- Sprinkle in a few drops of water stir and cook till soft adding a little water as necessary.
- Take off the heat and stir in the cardamom pwdr.
- The dish should be dry.
- Serve hot garnished with the fried raisins and almonds.
- Can be made richer with the addition of ghee and nuts.
- Serves 4
