A chiropractor gave me this recipe decades ago. Though it is kind of weird, it is still one of my favorite things to eat.

    Ingredients

    • Package or two of Beef or Lamb Hocks, Shanks, or Neck Bones w/the meat on them.
    • Pot of Water
    • 2 bunches of Green Onions/Scallions
    • 1 Cup White Distilled Vinegar
    • ½ Cup Soy Sauce
    • ¼ teaspoon Cayenne Pepper

    Directions

    1. Cut up Green Onions/Scallions to ¼ to ½ inch pieces and put ½ of them into pot of water with Hocks, Shanks, or Neck Bones. Put the other portion in the pot with meat near the end of cooking. Boil until meat falls off the bones. May take 3 hours. Use NO salt, pepper, or other seasonings. The marrow will dissolve, making the calcium filled broth healthy.
    2. Dipping Sauce:
    3. Mix the Vinegar, Soy Sauce, and Cayenne Pepper together.
    4. Note: If you want to flavor the broth, put a little sauce into it. Otherwise just dip the meat into the sauce and eat. Has a bit of a surprisingly sweet taste.
