Donn's Italian Sausage
A great alternate to traditional pasta sauce Ingredients
- 2 pound Italian sausage, warm or possibly mild
- 3 (14 ounce.) cans whole tomatoes, cut up
- 2 med. zucchini, sliced 1/4" & quarter
- Healthy pinch of basil
- 1/2 tbsp. rosemary
- 2 tbsp. oregano
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic salt
- 1/4 c. Parmesan cheese
- 1/4 c. celery leaves
- 1 green pepper, 1/4" pcs
- 1/3 c. onion, diced
- 1 tbsp. extra virgin olive oil
- Salt & pepper to taste
Directions
- Place sausage in pot whole.
- Add in water to cover and boil over medium heat for 1/2 hour or possibly till done. Keep pot covered while cooking.
- Remove cover and let water boil away.
- When dry, remove sausage and cut into bite-size pieces.
- Return to pot and fry for 1 minute.
- Add in all remaining ingredients and simmer for 1 hour.
- Serve over rice or pasta
