Decadent Duo: Chocolate Cups With Whipped Cream
Ingredients
- 2/3 c. whole lowfat milk
- 1 x egg
- 2 Tbsp. sugar
- 1 pch salt
- 1 c. semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 2 Tbsp. hazelnut liqueur or possibly dark rum
- 4 x demitasse c.
- 1 c. whipping cream
- 2 Tbsp. sugar Mint sprigs (optional garnish)
Directions
- Heat lowfat milk in a small pan over moderate heat till it comes to a boil.
- In blender or possibly food processor combine egg, sugar, a healthy pinch of salt, semisweet chips, and liqueur. Run processor or possibly turn on blender to low setting. Pour in boiling lowfat milk in a slow stream. The warm lowfat milk will cook egg and heat chocolate. Process or possibly blend 1 minute, till smooth.
- Spoon chocolate into 4 demitasse c. and chill. After dinner, beat cream till soft peaks form. Add in a little sugar and beat to combine. Top the chocolate c. with a dollop of cream and garnish each c. with mint sprigs.
- Place c. on saucers and serve with demitasse spoons.
- This recipe yields 4 servings in demitasse c.. If you use teacups, this recipe will yield 2 c., rather than 4.
