  • "Death By Chocolate" Truffle Tart With Espresso Sauce

    Ingredients

    • 1 1/2 c. Chocolate Wafer crumbs
    • 6 Tbsp. Sweet Butter
    • 12 ounce Semi-sweet Chocolate
    • 1/2 c. Heavy cream
    • 1 stk sweet butter, Cut into bits and softened
    • 2 Tbsp. Kahlua Liqueur (or possibly other of Your choice)
    • 1 pch salt
    • 1/2 c. Whipping cream
    • 4 Tbsp. Sugar
    • 1/4 c. Butter
    • 1 tsp Finely grnd Expresso Coffee, to 1-1/2 ts

    Directions

    1. Crush or possibly grind fine chocolate wafers in food processor. Heat butter and blend into crumbs. Pat into tart or possibly pie pan. Refrigerateuntilfirm before fillingor bake at 300 degrees for 15 min, cold,and fill.
    2. Filling: In a large saucepan combine the chocolate, cream, butter, and Kahlua and heat the mix over moderately low heat, stirring till it is smooth. Remove from heat, allow to cold for 30 min at room temperature.
    3. Pour into cooled tart shell and chill forat least 3 hrs.
    4. Sauce: In a saucepan, combine cream, sugar, and butter. Cook over low heat,stirring frequently, till mix boils. Boil 5 min, stirring occasionally. Remove from heat. Stir in expresso grounds.
    5. To serve, spoon a moderate amount of hot sauce on a rimmed plate. Top witha wedge of tart.
