Ingredients

  • 3/4 c. minced nuts
  • 1 c. dates, nut
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 3 tbsp. Crisco
  • 3/4 c. boiling water
  • 2 Large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1 1/2 c. flour

Directions

  1. Mix first four ingredients together. Add in water and Crisco. Let stand 20 min. Beat Large eggs slightly. Add in vanilla, sugar and flour. Stir into date mix. Bake in a greased and floured bread pan for 1 hour 5 min at 350 degrees. Makes 1 loaf.
