Pulled pork BBQ is one of our favorite foods and the crock pot is our favorite way to season and prepare this pork. Adding BBQ sauce after is really optional because it has such a wonderful flavor. Try it and see what YOU think!

    Ingredients

    • ¼ cup brown sugar
    • 4 teaspoons chili powder
    • 1 teaspoon cumin
    • 1 teaspoon paprika
    • 1 tablespoon salt
    • 5 – 5.5 pound Boston butt
    • ½ cup BBQ sauce
    • ¾ cup water
    • 2 medium onions, sliced
    • 6 large cloves of garlic, minced
    • Additional BBQ sauce if desired

    Directions

    1. Combine sugar, seasonings and salt and mix well with a fork in a large bowl.
    2. Coat the butt evenly with the seasoning. If possible wrap in plastic wrap and let sit overnight.
    3. Mix the water and BBQ sauce. Put in the crock pot.
    4. Add the onions and garlic.
    5. Unwrap the butt (if sat over night) and put in the crock pot.
    6. Cook on low 12 hours or until fully cooked.
    7. Shred with a fork and add additional BBQ sauce if desired. The flavor is great without the sauce though!
