Crispy Pan Fried Tofu

Tip: A cast iron pan works great for this. Heat pan on high heat for about a minute before adding oil.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb. extra firm tofu
  • 3 Tb. canola oil, grape seed oil or olive oil
  • 1/4 C. cornstarch
  • 1/4 C. fine bread crumbs
  • 2 Tb. mixed seasoning

Directions

  1. Heat oil in a medium skillet over medium heat.
  2. Mix cornstarch with breadcrumbs and seasoning.
  3. Pat the tofu dry and slice into strips. Season all over with salt and pepper. Dredge in the cornstarch mixture. Add the tofu to the skillet and sear until golden brown, about 2 minutes per side.
  4. Serve with sweet chili sauce.
