Cranberry Orange Sauce
Another, delicious, variation of cranberry sauce.
- 1 3/4 cups water
- 2 1/4 cups sugar
- 3/4 cup orange juice
- 2 Tbsp. lemon juice
- 680g cranberries, fresh or frozen
- 2 Tbsp. orange zest
- 2 Tbsp. lemon zest
- salt, just a pinch
- Bring water, sugar, orange juice and lemon juice to the boil.
- Add cranberries, zests, and salt; reduce heat and simmer until mixture is thick enough to mound on a spoon. The original recipe called for this to simmer for about 30 minutes, but I found that because of all the liquid, it actually takes closer to an hour to reduce.
- That's quite all right, as the finished product is so worth it!
