Give-Away and Crabby Cheese Won Tons - What a Name

In my attempt to use up some of what is in the freezer, I came across kosher not really crab. Does that make sense? Mock crab should explain it.

I have always played with these fish. They make mock lobster, mock crab, mock shrimp and something else. I would never use it as shrimp in a shrimp cocktail. It becomes too confusing to people who know I am kosher. I doubt it tastes like the real thing but you can tell me, if you have had it. I usually use these fish in casseroles, pancakes, with pasta and/or rice. It is a nice flavor and comes in pieces so it is easy to demolish for most recipes.

Now, I have made it into a Chanukah dish. This is going to be my new go to Chanukah recipe for appetizers. These are easy to make and oh, so tasty. Also, they can be filled with others foods and make a variety plate to pass around.

Look at the oil, these are swimming in and I must use the word, "swimming." These cook in a minute and they do not come out greasy. I hate oily food and this is the time of the year, we do eat it, in moderation. This one, fortunately is not at all greasy or oily. I would guess, if cooked for a longer time, at a lower temperature, it would be greasy or soggy.

Mine were crisp and I love them. Personality of won tons - joyful, not at all crabby.....

    Ingredients:

    Method:

Heat oil in large frying pan. I use my cast iron.

Mix softened cream cheese, soy sauce, sesame oil, Worcestershire sauce, onion, parsley and fish.

Using my cookie scoop (tablespoon measure) drop scoops into hot oil.

When latkes (pancakes) are brown, turn over and if you want flatten the latke a little.

Fry the other side until brown.

    Drain.

Eat and enjoy. These are good.
