Country style cube steak

Ingredients

  • 1 medium onion
  • 1 medium bell pepper
  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp pepper
  • 4 cube steaks
  • 3 Tbsp oil
  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 2 Tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • 2 Tbsp worchestershire sauce
  • 1 Tbsp brown sugar
  • 1/2 tsp dry mustard

Directions

  1. chop the onion and bell pepper into strips
  2. combine flour salt and pepper in a bowl and dredge cube steaks in it
  3. heat oil in a skillet and brown the floured meat on both sides
  4. combine the ketchup water vinegar worchestershire sauce brown sugar and mustard stir well
  5. spread the onions and peppers over the browned meat pour ketchup mixture over all of it
  6. cover and cook over med heat until meat is tender turning occassionally
