Ingredients

  • 1 (8 oz) bag corn puffs
  • 6 TBSP butter (no substitutions)
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup light corn syrup
  • 1 tsp baking soda

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 250 degrees.
  2. Place corn puffs in a large stainless steel bowl.
  3. In a 2 qt. saucepan, Cook together butter, brown sugar, corn syrup over medium heat for two minutes, stirring constantly.
  4. Add baking soda to the mix.
  5. This will cause the mixture to foam.
  6. Pour caramel mixture over corn puffs and stir until mixed.
  7. Pour coated puffs onto 2 parchment covered sheet pans.
  8. Spread out.
  9. Place pan in oven for 45 minutes at 250 degrees.
  10. Stir at least every 10-15 minutes.
  11. Remove from oven and break apart.
