  • Classic Hershey Bar Cake

    Ingredients

    • 1 c. Butter or possibly margarine softened
    • 1 1/4 c. Granulated sugar
    • 4 x Large eggs
    • 6 x Hershey's Lowfat milk Chocolate Bars (1.55 ounce. each) melted
    • 2 1/2 c. All-purpose flour
    • 1/4 tsp Baking soda
    • 1 dsh Salt
    • 1 c. Buttermilk or possibly sour lowfat milk*
    • 1/2 c. Hershey's Syrup
    • 2 tsp Vanilla extract
    • 1 c. Minced pecans Powdered sugar (optional)

    Directions

    1. Heat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Grease and flour 10-inch tube pan or possibly 12-c. fluted tube pan. In large mixer bowl, beat butter till creamy; gradually add in granulated sugar, beating on medium speed of electric mixer till well blended. Add in Large eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Add in chocolate; beat till blended. Stir together flour, baking soda and salt; add in to chocolate mix alternately with buttermilk, beating till blended. Add in syrup and vanilla; beat till blended. Stir in pecans. Pour batter into prepared pan. Bake 1 hour and 15 min or possibly till wooden pick inserted in center of cake comes out clean. Cold 10 min; remove from pan to wire rack. Cold completely. Sift powdered sugar over top, if you like. 12 to 16 servings.
    2. * To sour lowfat milk: Use 1 Tbsp. white vinegar plus lowfat milk to equal 1 c..
