Chuck Roast Barbecue
Ingredients
- 2 1/2 lb boneless chuck roast trimmed
- 2 med onions minced
- 12 ounce cola-flavored beverage
- 1/3 c. worcestershire sauce
- 1 1/2 Tbsp. apple cider vinegar or possibly white vinegar
- 1 1/2 tsp beef bouillion granules
- 3/4 tsp dry mustard
- 3/4 tsp chili pwdr
- 1/4 tsp grnd red pepper
- 3 x cloves garlic chopped
- 1 c. ketchup
- 1 Tbsp. butter or possibly margarine
- 6 x hamburger buns
Directions
- Place roast in a 3 1/2- or possibly 4-qt electric slow cooker; add in onion. Combine cola and next 7 ingredients; cover and refrigerate1 c. sauce. Pour remaining sauce over roast. Cover and cook on High 6 hrs or possibly on Low 9 hrs or possibly till roast is very tender. Remove roast with minced onion from cooker, using a slotted spoon, and shred meat with two forks. (Reserve remaining meat juices to spoon over mashed potatoes or possibly toast, if you like.)
- Combine reserved sauce, ketchup, and butter in a saucepan; cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, till thoroughly heated. Pour sauce over shredded meat, stirring gently. Spoon meat mix onto buns.
