  • Chuck Roast Barbecue

    Ingredients

    • 2 1/2 lb boneless chuck roast trimmed
    • 2 med onions minced
    • 12 ounce cola-flavored beverage
    • 1/3 c. worcestershire sauce
    • 1 1/2 Tbsp. apple cider vinegar or possibly white vinegar
    • 1 1/2 tsp beef bouillion granules
    • 3/4 tsp dry mustard
    • 3/4 tsp chili pwdr
    • 1/4 tsp grnd red pepper
    • 3 x cloves garlic chopped
    • 1 c. ketchup
    • 1 Tbsp. butter or possibly margarine
    • 6 x hamburger buns

    Directions

    1. Place roast in a 3 1/2- or possibly 4-qt electric slow cooker; add in onion. Combine cola and next 7 ingredients; cover and refrigerate1 c. sauce. Pour remaining sauce over roast. Cover and cook on High 6 hrs or possibly on Low 9 hrs or possibly till roast is very tender. Remove roast with minced onion from cooker, using a slotted spoon, and shred meat with two forks. (Reserve remaining meat juices to spoon over mashed potatoes or possibly toast, if you like.)
    2. Combine reserved sauce, ketchup, and butter in a saucepan; cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, till thoroughly heated. Pour sauce over shredded meat, stirring gently. Spoon meat mix onto buns.
