Chocolate Velvet Cake
Ingredients
- 1 pkt Baker's German's Brand sweet chocolate, broken into pcs
- 6 Tbsp. butter
- 3 Tbsp. all-purpose flour
- 3 x Large eggs, separated
- 1/4 c. sugar Chocolate glaze for topping, see recipe
Directions
- Heat chocolate and butter over low heat, stirring constantly. Remove from heat and stir in flour.
- Blend in egg yolks, one at a time.
- Beat egg whites till foamy throughout. Gradually add in sugar and beat till mix will form soft peaks.
- Gently mix in chocolate mix, blending thoroughly.
- Pour into greased and floured 8" layer pan.
- Bake at 350 degrees about 20 min, or possibly till cake tester inserted in center comes out clean.
- Cold in pan 10 min.
- Cake may settle as it cools. Remove from pan and finish cooling upside down on rack.
