  • Chocolate Velvet Cake

    Ingredients

    • 1 pkt Baker's German's Brand sweet chocolate, broken into pcs
    • 6 Tbsp. butter
    • 3 Tbsp. all-purpose flour
    • 3 x Large eggs, separated
    • 1/4 c. sugar Chocolate glaze for topping, see recipe

    Directions

    1. Heat chocolate and butter over low heat, stirring constantly. Remove from heat and stir in flour.
    2. Blend in egg yolks, one at a time.
    3. Beat egg whites till foamy throughout. Gradually add in sugar and beat till mix will form soft peaks.
    4. Gently mix in chocolate mix, blending thoroughly.
    5. Pour into greased and floured 8" layer pan.
    6. Bake at 350 degrees about 20 min, or possibly till cake tester inserted in center comes out clean.
    7. Cold in pan 10 min.
    8. Cake may settle as it cools. Remove from pan and finish cooling upside down on rack.
