    Ingredients

    • 48 Milk Chocolate Kisses
    • 1/2 cup shortening
    • 1 cup creamy peanut butter
    • 1/2 cup packed light brown sugar
    • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
    • 1 egg
    • 2 tbsp milk
    • 1 tsp vanilla
    • 1 cup flour
    • 1/3 cup baking cocoa
    • 1 tsp baking soda
    • 1/2 tsp salt
    • Granulated sugar

    Directions

    1. Heat the oven to 375 F
    2. Remove wrappers from the chocolates
    3. Beat the shortening and the peanut butter in a large bowl until well mixed
    4. Add the brown sugar and 1/3 cup granulated sugar
    5. Beat until fluffy
    6. Add the egg, milk, and vanilla
    7. Beat well
    8. Stir together the flour, cocoa, baking soda, and salt
    9. Gradually beat into the peanut butter mixture
    10. Shape the dough into 1-inch balls
    11. Roll in granulated sugar
    12. Place on ungreased cookie sheets
    13. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes or until set
    14. Immediately press a milk chocolate kiss into the center of each cookie
    15. The cookies will crack around the edges
    16. Remove the cookies from the cookie sheets to wire racks to cool completely
