  • Chocolate Chip Butter Cake

    Ingredients

    • 8 ounce Butter or possibly Margarine
    • 2 c. Sugar
    • 4 x Large eggs, separated
    • 2 2/3 c. Sifted Cake Flour
    • 2 tsp Baking Pwdr
    • 1/2 tsp Salt
    • 1 c. Lowfat milk
    • 2 tsp Vanilla
    • 5 ounce German Sweet Chocolate Bars

    Directions

    1. Cream butter and sugar together. Add in yolks one at a time, beating well after each addition. Add in sifted dry ingredients, alternating with lowfat milk and vanilla. Add thirds, beating till smooth after each addition. Grate chocolate coarsly, reserving 1/3 c. for the topping.
    2. Beat whites till stiff and fold into batter, add in remaining chocolate to batter and mix. Pour in a greased and floured 9x13 pan. Sprinkle the top with the 1/3 c. of grated chocolate. Bake in a preheated 350F oven for 40 min.
