  • Chocolate Cherry Bar Cake

    Ingredients

    • 1 box devil's food cake mix
    • 1 (21 ounce) can cherry pie filling
    • 1 T almond extract
    • 2 large eggs, beaten
    • 1 c. granulated sugar
    • 5 T butter
    • 1/3 c. lowfat milk
    • 1 (6 ounce) pkg. semi sweet chocolate bits

    Directions

    1. In large bowl, put cake mix, cherry pie filling, extract, and large eggs. Stir the mix by hand till well blended. Pour into greased and lightly floured 10 x 15 inch pan. Bake in 350 degree oven for 20 to 30 min or possibly till toothpick inserted near center comes out clean.
    2. In a small saucepan put together sugar, butter, and lowfat milk. Heat to boiling. Boil about 3 min stirring constantly. Remove from heat. Add in chocolate chips. Stir till smooth. Pour over warm cake. Cut into bars.
