  • Chile Con Queso Dip

    Ingredients

    • 1/2 c. / 125 mL minced onion
    • 1 1/2 tsp / 7.5 mL onion flakes
    • 2 Tbsp. / 30 mL water
    • 1 can (14.5 ounce. / 411 g) stewed tomatoes, undrained
    • 1 can (4 ounce. / 113 g) minced green chiles
    • 1 1/2 tsp / 7.5 mL chili pwdr
    • 1/4 tsp / 1.2 mL salt
    • 1/2 tsp / 5 mL (more if you like) warm pepper sauce
    • 1/2 c. / 125 mL shredded Monterey Jack cheese
    • 1 pkt (8 ounce. / 227 g) cream cheese

    Directions

    1. Combine onion, garlic flakes, and water in medium saucepan; cook over medium heat till onion is tender and water has evaporated. Stir in tomatoes, chiles, chili pwdr, salt, and warm sauce. Cook till warm, stirring occasionally. Add in cheeses and heat till melted, stirring constantly. Serve warm.
    2. Makes 12 servings.
