  • Chick Pea Patties With Spicy Sauce

    Ingredients

    • 2 x 420 g tin chick peas
    • 2 Tbsp. Gluten free tikka paste
    • 1 lrg Red onion, diced A lime, juice of
    • 2 Tbsp. Fresh coriander, minced
    • 100 ml Extra virgin olive oil for frying, (3 1/2floz) Salt and freshly grnd black pepper
    • 1 tsp Pure ginger, coriander, cumin and tumeric
    • 2 Tbsp. Fresh coriander, minced
    • 2 tsp Pure red paprika
    • 1/2 tsp Pure chilli pwdr
    • 75 ml Water, (3 floz)
    • 3 Tbsp. Sunflower oil
    • 2 x Garlic cloves, crushed (2 to 3)
    • 1 tsp Gluten free taramind paste
    • 1/2 lrg Chilli, minced very finely Freshly grnd black pepper
    • 100 ml Natural yogurt, (3 1/2 floz)

    Directions

    1. Mash the chick peas, leaving some whole. Add in the tikka paste, red onion, lime juice, coriander and seasoning. Mix well.
    2. Cover and refrigeratefor 20 min to enable the flavours to develop.
    3. Work the mix together and form 8 patties, roughly 7. 5cm (3 inch)
    4. across x 1cm ( 1/2 inch) high.
    5. Heat the oil in a heavy based frying pan and cook for a couple of min both sides, till brown and crisp.
    6. To make the sauce: mix all the dry spices together and add in the water, and then the oil. Mix well. Add in the crushed garlic, chilli and fresh coriander. Mix and set to one side. Add in the yogurt just before serving.
    7. Notes Ideal served with a crisp salad.
    8. NOTES : Delicious patties served with a spicy sauce.An ideal gluten free vegetarian dinner.
