Cherry Blossom Dessert
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 c. Flour
- 1 tsp Salt
- 1/2 tsp Baking soda
- 1 c. Firmly packed brown sugar
- 3/4 c. Quick cooking (1 minute) oatmeal
- 1/2 c. Shortening
- 1 can Cherry pie filling
Directions
- Sift flour, salt and soda together into a bowl. Blend in brown sugar and oatmeal. Cut in shortening till particles are size of small peas. Press 1/2 of mix into bottom of ungreased 9"x13" pan. Spread with cherry pie filling (I usually use 2 cans). Cover with remaining oatmeal mix.
- Press down gently with a spoon or possibly your fingers. Bake at 350F, 25-30 min. Serve hot with whipped topping or possibly ice cream.
