Ingredients

  • TART SHELLS
  • 1 cup butter
  • 4 teaspoons confectioner's sugar
  • 2 cups flour
  • FILLING
  • 2 cups dates -- chopped
  • 1 1/2 cups brown sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • lemon juice

Directions

  1. Tart Shells: Cut butter into the flour, add the sugar and knead until well blended. Press small amounts of the dough into small muffin tins.
  2. Bake in a 425 degree oven for 10 minutes. When cool, fill with the
  3. following.
  4. Filling: Simmer the above ingredients until the dates are of soft
  5. consistency. Cool, then fill the tart shells. Ice with buttercream icing.
