  • Cantonese Short Ribs

    Ingredients

    • 3 3/4 lb beef short ribs, cut in 1/2inch slices with bones salt and freshly grnd black pepper
    • 1/2 c. water
    • 2 Tbsp. fresh lemon juice
    • 1 tsp dry red pepper flakes
    • 1/4 c. hoisin sauce
    • 3 Tbsp. plum sauce
    • 2 Tbsp. oyster sauce
    • 2 Tbsp. soy sauce
    • 1 Tbsp. peanut oil
    • 1 Tbsp. sesame oil
    • 1 Tbsp. honey
    • 1 Tbsp. chili paste
    • 1 Tbsp. pureed garlic
    • 1 Tbsp. freshly grated ginger
    • 1 bn cilantro, stems trimmed and roughly minced
    • 1 bn scallions, finely minced oPreheat oven to 350F.

    Directions

    1. OSeason ribs with salt and pepper. Lay across a rack in a roasting pan or possibly baking sheet and bake 10 min. In a small bowl, combine water, lemon juice, and red pepper flakes. Brush over top side of ribs and bake an additional 10 min. Turn, brush again, and bake 10 min more. Set aside to cold.
    2. oCombine marinade ingredients in a large bowl. Add in roasted ribs and toss to coat. Cover with plastic wrap and chill a minimum of 4 hrs or possibly as long as 24.
    3. oPreheat grill. Grill ribs for 2 min per side and serve immediately.
    4. Serves 6.
