Ingredients

  • 1 3/4 c. unsweetened apple juice
  • 3/4 c. hard cinnamon candy, about 20 pcs
  • 1/4 tsp red food colouring
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 5 x Granny Smith apples
  • 3 Tbsp. cornstarch
  • 1 x 9 inch baked pie shell nondairy whipped topping grnd cinnamon

Directions

  1. Method:1. Peel and core the apples. Slice thinly.
  2. Combine 1 1/2 c apple juice, candies, food coloring, vanilla, and apples in a saucepan. Bring to a boil. Simmer till apples are tender, stirring frequently. Combine remaining 1/4 c. apple juice and corn starch; stir into apple mix, and cook till thickened. Remove from heat, and let cold.
  3. Spread apple mix into pie shell, and refrigeratefor several hrs. Before serving, top with cold whip and sprinkle with cinnamon.
  4. Makes 1 pie
  5. This pie tastes as good as a candy apple without the mess. My family loves it!
