    These Calzones are easy to make and you can make the stuffing of your choice....You can make the dough in advance and freeze it....Just thaw it to room temperature before making and you are good to go....

    Ingredients

    • Dough
    • All purpose flour-3 cups
    • Active dry yeast-2 tsp
    • Warm water-1cup
    • Sugar- 1 tbsp
    • Salt- 1tsp
    • Oil-2 tbsp
    • Filling {you can make filling of your choice...This is what I did....}
    • Oil- 1tsp
    • Onion-4 tbsp {chopped}
    • Mushroom-4 tbsp{chopped}
    • Broccoli-4 tbsp{chopped}
    • Salt
    • Cream cheese-3 tbsp {you can use hung yogurt in case cream cheese is not available}
    • Mozzarella cheese-2 tbsp{grated}
    • Egg- 1{for egg wash}

    Directions

    1. Dissolve yeast in warm water
    2. Add sugar, oil, salt and mix
    3. Add half the flour and mix
    4. Add the remaining flour and knead the dough for 5-6 mins on a floured surface
    5. The dough should be smooth and elastic
    6. Cover and keep aside for an hour
    7. In a pan , add oil
    8. Add onion, broccoli and mushroom
    9. Add salt
    10. Cook covered for 5 mins on medium heat
    11. Remove from heat and add cream cheese and mozzarella
    12. Mix
    13. Pre heat the oven to375 degrees
    14. Divide the dough in 8-9 equal balls
    15. Roll the dough on a lightly floured surface
    16. Put one tbsp of filling on the half of the rolled dough and fold the dough over the filling
    17. Pinch to seal the edges
    18. I used forks tines to seal the edges
    19. With a sharp knife, make small cuts on the surface of the calzones
    20. Place the calzones on a baking dish
    21. Brush with egg wash
    22. Bake for 20-25 mins till golden brown
    23. Serve hot with ketchup
