Cabbage Patch Soup/Stew
Ingredients
- 1 lb Grnd beef
- 1 1/2 c. Coarsely minced cabbage
- 1/2 c. Sliced celery
- 2 med Onions, thinly sliced
- 1 c. Water
- 2 tsp Chili pwdr
- 3/4 tsp Salt
- 1/4 tsp Pepper
- 15 ounce Can kidney beans, liquid removed
- 16 ounce Can stewed tomatoes, Undrained
- 1 x Recipe Cheese Dumplings (See recipe)
Directions
- Cook grnd beef in Dutch oven, stirring occasionally, till brown; drain.
- Stir in cabbage, celery and onions. Cook stirring occasionally, till vegetables are light brown. Stir in remaining ingredients. Heat to boiling; reduce heat. While beef mix is simmering, prepare Cheese Dumplings
- (see recipe). Drop dumpling dough by 10 to 12 spoonfuls onto warm beef mix (don't drop directly into liquid). Cook uncovered 10 min.
- Cover and cook 10 min longer.
