  • Bumpy Road Brownies

    Very moist and crunchy brownies It has an unusual deep chocolate taste unlike most brownies today. Try this recipe and see for yourself.

    Ingredients

    • For the crust:
    • 2 T. Original Uncle Sam Cereal ( chopped up fine in food processor)
    • 2 cup graham crackers crumbs
    • 1 cup brown sugar
    • 1/4 cup crushed pecans ( or other nuts)
    • 1 cup butter ( oleo)
    • Ingredients for the brownies:
    • 1 cup butter
    • 2 cups sugar
    • 2 tsp. vanilla
    • 1/2 tsp. salt
    • 1 tsp. baking powder
    • 2 T. instant coffee ( mix with small amount of water)
    • 4 large eggs
    • 1 1/2 - 2 cups flour
    • 1 pk. cream cheese
    • 1 cup chocolate chips or morsels
    • 1 cup chopped walnuts
    • 1/2 cup cocoa
    • 2 T. peanut butter ( optional)

    Directions

    1. Mix together the ingredients for the crust. Spray 13 x 9 baking pan and press the crust evenly in pan on bottom. Bake at 350 for about 6 minutes. Set aside.
    2. 1. In a bowl, blend together butter, vanilla, sugar,eggs, salt , instant coffee and baking powder. Add the flour slowly, making sure it is well blended.
    3. Evenly separate the batter into separate bowls:
    4. 2 In one batter mix in the cream cheese and chocolate chips.
    5. In second batter, stir in the cocoa,and mix in chopped nuts.
    6. 3. Spread out the cream cheese batter over the crust and make sure it is even and smooth.
    7. 4 Spoon the chocolate batter of the cream cheese batter and smooth out.
    8. 5.Bake at 350 degrees for about 40 minutes or until toothpick comes out somewhat clean. Let cool
