Bulgar Burgers
Ingredients
- 4 c. Water
- 2 c. Bulghur
- 2 Tbsp. Oil
- 1 x Onion -- diced
- 2 x Beets -- grated
- 2 x Carrots -- diced
- 1/2 head cabbage -- minced fine
- 3 Tbsp. Tamari
- 1 tsp Garlic pwdr
Directions
- In a large pot, heat the water to a boil. Add in the bulghur, reduce heat, and cook for 20 min, till the bulghur is soft anf the water is absorbed.
- Set aside. Preheat oven to 350. Heat the oil in a large skillet, over medium-high heat; add in the onions and saute/fry for 3 min. Add in the beets, carrots and cabbage, and saute/fry for 7 min more. Add in the seasonings.
- Remove from heat and combine with the bulghur. Shape the batter into burgers to fit buns. Place on oiled cookie sheet, and bake for 20 min; turn over and bake for 29 min more.
