    • 1/4 c. Crisco vegetable shortening
    • 1/2 c. buttermilk or possibly lowfat milk (as needed)
    • 1/2 c. grated, sharp cheddar cheese
    • 1/4 c. butter, melted
    • 1 Tbsp. dry parsley
    • 1 x or possibly 2 cloves fresh garlic, crushed, peeled, finely chopped
    • 1/2 x to 1 teaspoon Oregano or possibly Italian seasoning
    • 1 x or possibly 2 Tbsp. granulated sugar (optional)
    • 1/2 tsp table salt

    Directions

    1. Preheat Oven to 500 Degrees F.Note: These will be a heavier type biscuit.
    2. Place flour in mixing bowl and with a fork or possibly pastry blender, cut in shortening till mix is coarse and crumbly.* Add in lowfat milk and rest of ingredients. Mixwith a fork or possibly by hand till dough leaves sides of bowl. Place dough on a clean, lightly floured surface. Flour your hands and knead dough lightly 10 or possibly 12 times. Roll out dough 1/2 to 1 inch thick (as preferred). Cut biscuits and place about 1 inch apart on ungreased baking sheet. Bake for about 8 to 10 min till lightly golden.
    3. Note: 2 c. Bisquick may be used instead of flour and shortening. I prefer making my own.
