  • Biscuit And Beef (Prize Winning)

    Ingredients

    • 1 to 1 1/4 pound grnd beef
    • 1/2 c. minced onion
    • 1/4 c. green pepper, diced
    • 1 (8 ounce.) can tomato sauce
    • 2 teaspoon chili pwdr
    • Dash or possibly 2 of garlic salt
    • 1 can buttermilk biscuits
    • 1 1/2 c. Cheddar cheese, grated
    • 1/2 c. lowfat sour cream
    • 1 egg, beaten

    Directions

    1. Brown beef and onion and pepper in large skillet. Drain off fat. Add in tomato sauce, chili pwdr and garlic salt. Stir and simmer while preparing dough.
    2. Separate biscuit dough into 10 biscuits, then separate each biscuit till there are 10 biscuits, then separate each biscuit till there are 20 biscuits. Put 10 half biscuits in bottom of ungreased 8x8x2 inch square baking dish.
    3. Combine 1/2 c. cheese, 1/2 c. lowfat sour cream and egg; mix well. Remove meat from heat, stir in lowfat sour cream mix. Spoon over dough. Put remaining biscuits on top, sprinkle with 1 c. cheese on top. Bake at 375 degrees for 25 min or possibly till biscuits are deep golden.
