  • Beef Pot Pie With Biscuits

    Ingredients

    • 1 pound beef boneless chuck, cut into 1/2 inch pcs
    • 1 tbsp. shortening
    • 1 med. onion, minced
    • 1 stalk celery, minced
    • 3 tbsp. butter
    • 1 1/2 c. warm water
    • 1 tbsp. instant beef bouillon
    • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
    • 1/2 teaspoon dry thyme leaves
    • Salt and pepper
    • 1 (10 ounce.) pkg. frzn peas and carrots
    • 1 (2 ounce.) jar sliced pimentos, liquid removed
    • 1/4 c. cool water
    • 3 tbsp. Bisquick baking mix
    • Biscuits (below)

    Directions

    1. Brown beef in shortening in skillet; remove beef. Cook onion and celery in butter in skillet till onion is tender. Stir in remaining ingredients except cool water, baking mix, and biscuits. Heat to boiling; reduce heat. Cover and simmer 30 min. Heat oven to 450 degrees. Prepare biscuits. Mix cool water and baking mix till smooth; gradually stir into beef mix. Heat to boiling, stirring constantly; boil and stir 1 minute. Pour into 1 1/2 qt casserole. Arrange biscuits on top. Bake till golden brown, 10-12 min. 5-6 servings.
